The Old English “M” is a staple of baseball at the U, and in the 1980’s, they really leaned into the tradition with this arched, Old English “Miami.” It must have been good luck, since the Hurricanes made the NCAA Tournament every year of the ‘80s and the College World Series eight times, and won two national championships in 1982 and 1985.
